Evaluation question 5

This screenshot is of the establishing shot of our setting. New York will appeal to anyone interested in travel, America or cities in general. It could appeal to both genders, and potentially all ages. However, males aged 15-30 who enjoy cities are more likely to favour it. This fits well into our target audience and film certification.

This close up shot shows the male protagonist in the office looking at various files and documents. Working in an office is a very common location for many professions, and so this will appeal to a wide audience of adults both male and female. They will be able to relate to its environment and atmosphere. This may also fit our target audience because it may be a job that 15 year olds and up may think they could obtain in the future.

This mid-shot of the protagonist and antagonist can appeal to a younger male audience, who will potentially relate to the protagonist in particular. Both characters may link to our desired target audience because of their age, and so our audience will interact and feel more immersed with relatable characters.

Overall, I feel that although our opening sequence does attract our target audience, it is difficult to represent through screenshots. Through text however, I can explain more details as to how we address our audience. By using fast paced editing, and an intense soundtrack, we attracted our younger male audience because the tension and intensity created is something that they enjoy. In conclusion, our piece does attract and address our audience, through use of all areas of media.
